GRACE EXTENDED MINISTRIES (GEMS)
Grace Extended Ministries (GEMS) was implemented at Souls Harbor in the year of 2006. The purpose of this ministry is to fulfill Matthew 25:34-36: "Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me."
GEMS is made up of two groups and each group consists of three teams. Groups A & B rotate monthly, which gives each group one month to plan its activities for the next.
GEMS has three major responsibilities that they must accomplish each month:
1. Visit the sick and shut in
2. Provide food for the hungry
3. Provide clothing for the needy
(Jail ministry is accomplished through Evangelism Ministry.)
These along with other acts of benevolence help us to fulfill the commission the Lord gave unto His church. Every member of Souls Harbor participates in this ministry. Through GEMS we give unto those who can give nothing in return.
